Mary Poppins Returns
So, i’ve watched Mary Poppins Returns four times now. Hands down would go again. And again. And again and again and again. Oh, and between the post-cinema highs, i’ve listened to the soundtrack on Spotify a good 55 times. It’s not only the childlike wonder and gorgeous cinematography that get me going, but the songs, lyrics and optimism. Here’s a sprinkling of my favorite quotes from the film:
“Life’s a balloon that tumbles or rises depending on what is inside. Fill it with hope and playful surprises, and oh deary ducks, then you’re in for a ride.”
“The past is the past, it lives on as history, and that’s an important thing. The future comes fast, each second a mystery, for nobody knows what tomorrow may bring.”
“Let the past take a bow, the forever is now.”
“There’s nowhere to go but up.”
“So, when life is getting dreary, just pretend that you’re a leerie, who can shine the light for all the world to see.”
“So, when life is getting scary, be your own illuminary.”
“So, when troubles are incessant, simply be more incandescent, for your light comes with a lifetime guarantee.”
“Some people think far too much. Of that, i’m sure.”
“Today or never that’s my motto.”
